This course will define the opportunities for green building product manufacturers to improve the design, construction, and operation of buildings.

The course will review how products are marketed to designers and consumers, including information on valid product claims and greenwashing. Existing green building product directories, labels, and certification systems, and product life cycle assessment will be explored in detail. An overview of LEED credits, referenced standards, and documentation requirements will be provided.

Resources for evaluating organizational sustainability will be provided. The attendee will review case studies from other companies’ forays into improving their product lines, operational procedures, and sustainability commitments.
